My name is Mrs Dumbleton I have been teaching for 13 years now, in and out of Dean Valley trying to secure a job at this wonderful school. I am lucky enough to be in my seventh year of my dream job as Reception class teacher at Dean Valley. No two days are ever the same at Dean Valley, we aim to provide every child with an engaging, exciting and enjoyable learning experience.
Miss Ashcroft and I enjoy getting to know every member of our class well, to best allow us to support and guide their learning in these important first foundations of their learning journey at Dean Valley.

Phonics, reading, letter formation, maths and literacy skills are taught sequentially each day in a practical and engaging ways. Quality continuous provision plays a vital role in your child’s day to develop knowledge and skills
“Children live in a world of wonder.”
Play is planning, creating, negotiating, challenging yourself, challenging others, enquiring, conversation, guiding, mark making, maths and having fun. The list is endless.
So if you ask your child what they have done today and they say they can’t remember, it is probably because they have been so busy doing some or all of the above.
School uniform to be worn every day.
Thursday - PE (kits will be kept in school.)
Friday - Forest School (waterproofs brought in a bag.)
