Welcome to Year 4 with Mr Hasler, Mrs Downie, and Mrs Russell!

We are thrilled to have you with us and are looking forward to an exciting year ahead. Our first topic for the Autumn term is The World Beneath Our Feet, where the children will delve into the history of the Stone Age and Iron Age while also investigating how our earth is formed through studies of rocks.

In Numeracy, we'll begin with Place Value, and our Literacy focus will be on the wonderful book The Iron Man by Ted Hughes (not to be confused with Stan Lee!).

Our weekly timetable, along with reminders of the resources needed, is available on our webpage. I'll update this page regularly to keep you informed.

Weekly Activities:

• Swimming - Tuesdays: Don't forget to pack your swim gear! Our swimming sessions will take place every Tuesday.
• Orchestra - Wednesdays
• Outdoor PE - Monday, please keep indoor PE kit in school and bring full outdoor PE uniform each Monday.
• Forest School - Fridays please check the school calendar for which week your child has forest school

  Reminders for daily learning

• School shoes/ indoor shoes will remain in shool  and children can come to school in their outdoor shoes everyday.  
• All children with long hair must wear it tied back.
• Children only need to bring the essentials into school every day – lunchbox and water bottle.
• They will be provided with all equipment.
• Children are welcome to bring water bottles into the classroom to be kept on desks.
• A suitable coat is vital as we will spend time outside every day, for daily miles, playtimes and other outdoor learning opportunities.
