Spring Term Curriculum
INTENT
Our curriculum encourages curiosity, creativity and understanding of the world. Pupils explore how art can be made in different ways, experimenting with materials and mechanisms to create purposeful designs. In geography, they learn what a river is, how it is formed and study examples such as the Nile, Amazon and Thames. In RE, pupils learn the story of Easter and its importance to Christians.Through these experiences, we develop creative, knowledgeable and reflective learners.
IMPLEMENTATION
Our curriculum is delivered through sequenced lessons that build knowledge and skills over time. Pupils explore different ways of creating art through practical work with materials and simple mechanisms. In geography, they learn about river formation and features, studying examples such as the Nile, Amazon and Thames. In RE, pupils are taught the story of Easter and its significance to Christians.Teaching includes modelling, key vocabulary and retrieval to secure understanding.
