Spring Curriculum
Spring Term 2
This term is packed with exciting learning across the curriculum!
In Literacy, the children will be diving into The Big Book of Beasts, using its wonderful creatures and fascinating facts to inspire their own imaginative narrative writing as well as an engaging information leaflet.
In maths, alongside consolidating the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, we will be exploring measurement, focusing on length and height through practical, hands-on activities.
Our history lessons will take the children on a journey through time as they learn about famous explorers and the impact their discoveries have had on the world, while in geography they will build their global knowledge by investigating continents, oceans and rivers.
We will also stay as active as ever, enjoying a mix of indoor and outdoor PE sessions alongside our much-loved Forest School adventures, a fantastic way to learn, explore and have fun in the great outdoors!
Reading remains a crucial part of the Year 2 curriculum. Children will take part in daily reading through RWI phonics, guided reading sessions, and literacy lessons. We also encourage all children to read at home every day. Regular reading supports fluency and builds comprehension, which is essential for success across the whole curriculum.
