• 10 mins Numbots 
• 7 games of Spelling Shed (tested on a Friday)

Monday to Monday:

• One written task each week (Maths or Literacy). Standards of books will be shown in homework books.

Reading daily (logged in homework book)  

There may be occasions where homework is linked to topic and will have a specific due date.

🎄 How to Catch the School’s Naughty Elf on the Shelf

Instruction Writing Homework

Your task is to write a clear, detailed set of instructions explaining how someone could catch the naughty Elf on the Shelf who has been causing mischief around school.

🧰 Your instructions should include:

• A title

• An equipment list (e.g., glitter traps, candy cane rope, a mince pie bait…)

• Numbered steps written in order

• Imperative verbs (grab, place, set up, sneak, watch…)

• Adverbs (quietly, carefully, secretly…)

• Warnings (e.g., “Be careful not to startle the elf.”)

• A final success step (“Once the elf is caught…”)

💡 Ideas to help them get started:

• The elf has been moving classroom objects, hiding whiteboard pens, or sprinkling tinsel everywhere.

• Students can design a trap, create a lure, or plan a stake-out.

• The method can be magical, scientific, or completely silly!
