Music at Dean Valley

Music is a very special and important part of life at Dean Valley. All children experience exceptionally high quality curriculum lessons delivered by a specailst music teacher. We enjoy singing together in assembly several times in the week especially when we are accompanied by our own strong orchestra during our Celebration Assembly each Friday morning. Each child also learns how to read music at Dean Valley in Year 3 by learning the recorder.

Parents are regularly invited to attend assemblies where they can hear the orchestra and the children singing and each year we hold a wonderful concert afternoon where the children from each year group showcase their learning and musical talents.

We take part in community events such as singing Christmas Carols in local care homes and residential homes. Our orchestra plays annually at the Christingle Service at St Oswald's church.

We  also take part in large events involving many schools from the Manchester area such as Young Voices at the MEN arena and our orchestra has played along with the Halle at the Bridgewater Hall, both of which are unforgettable experiences for the children involved.

Private music lessons are also available in brass, strings, piano, drums, guitar and woodwind.
