Whole School Theatre Trip - confirmation deadline

Where: The New Vic Theatre, Newcastle under Lyme
When: Monday 19th January 2026 leaving Dean Valley at 8:50am and arriving back at approx. 1:30pm

We have secured a booking for a whole school visit at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme to see The Little Mermaid on Monday 19th January 2026 at 10:30am. We have always been impressed with our theatre visits and we know the children will really enjoy it.

It is anticipated that we will leave school at 8:50am and return at approximately 1:30pm, having lunch on return. School dinners will be provided to those children who have pre ordered via Arbor.

Our charging policy can be seen at school or on the school website. This activity is NOT part of the Standard Education (defined in our charging policy) which we provide for your child and as such school is not required to fund the cost of this activity. If the activity is to go ahead the cost will need to be met by voluntary contribution or donations. The cost of this activity will be £23.22 per participating pupil which school expects will be met by their family. If you do want your child to participate in this activity and are in receipt of eligible state benefits or are unable to contribute please let me know.

 

If you do not want your child to participate in this activity they should attend school as normal. If funds are insufficient to meet the costs of the activity it will probably be cancelled.

In order to secure our booking we need to confirm numbers on 5th December. Please tick the consent box within Trips (on Arbor) by 5th December and please make payment of £23.22 (via Arbor) by Friday 9th January 2026.

The children will not require money to take to the theatre, however due to the late return; they will require a snack to eat during the interval and a non-fizzy drink in a named plastic bottle with a screw top or drinking nozzle.
