We have a very supportive Parent Forum who meet regularly after school and in the evenings.
This is an opportunity for you as parents or carers to:
• have a voice in the school and for the school to find out what you think;
• get more involved in the school;
• help you to help your child do well at school;
• help the Governing Body find out what you are thinking about the school and what changes and improvements you would like to see.
The group is led by parents, for parents and all parents are welcome and encouraged to come along. There is a crèche for children and refreshments.
Please contact Ms Sally Heap if you need any further information.
We value feedback from parents. If you are able to spare a few minutes please complete the online survey following the link below:

Parentmail - communication with parents
We use Parentmail at Dean Valley, an email and text messaging service which is used in addition to paper copy letters and the school website to keep parents informed.
Communicating with you is an important part of what we do, making sure you get the correct information about activities, events and school news.
The school uses ParentMail, a service used by over 6,000 schools, nurseries and children’s clubs to communicate to parents.

In our Reception Class we use Tapestry, an on-line interactive early years learning journal. This allows parents and carers to access at home what their childen are doing and learning at school through photographs, videos, observations and assessments. Parents and carers can add their own photographs, videos and observations to share with staff at school. Both parents and staff can also comment on each others' or their own observations. At Dean Valley, we encourage parents and carers to share their child's journal with their child sat next to them so that their child can see and read what is written and can comment on what they have been doing and learning.
